President William Ruto will today officially flag off the 2025 WRC Safari Rally Kenya.

The event will be held at the KICC before the cars go for the Super Special Stage at Kasarani, 16km west of the capital city.

The vehicles will then head to Naivasha for the second stage of the day in Mzabibu which is a new stage for the WRC Safari Rally and then retire for the day.

The event will conclude with the Wolf Power Stage in Naivasha on Sunday.

Safari Rally Kenya is a motorsport adventure like no other.

It is known as one of the toughest and most unpredictable events on the calendar.

The four-day event will be watched by over 85 million people worldwide, with 100,000 fans expected in person in Naivasha.

CJ Koome to host Dutch royal couple

Chief Justice Martha Koome will today host King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands at the Supreme Court for a meeting.

Dutch Royal Visit Today marks the final day of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima’s four-day tour of the country.

A series of activities have been lined up for the day.

Here is the full programme.

Morning 

At the Supreme Court, they will hold talks with CJ Koome and other leading figures in the justice sector, particularly women.

The visit will focus on the importance of an independent judiciary in increasing inclusive access to justice, and Dutch-Kenyan initiatives to that end.

Thereafter they will tour the Judiciary Museum, which showcases the history and development of Kenya’s judicial system.

Afternoon

They will visit the International Peace Support Training Centre.

The renowned International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) trains military personnel from several African countries to support various UN and African Union missions in Africa.

The Netherlands supports the centre by providing training on intelligence in the context of UN peace operations.

The visit to the IPSTC will focus on the future of defence cooperation between the Netherlands and Kenya.

The King and Queen will also hear about initiatives for combating violent extremism, and about the positive impact mothers and young people can achieve in combating radicalisation.

Reception for the Dutch community 

The final day of the state visit will close with a reception for the Dutch community.

At the ambassador's official residence, the King and Queen will speak with Dutch nationals who live and work in Kenya.

ABSA to release its full-year financial report

Absa Bank Kenya will today unveil its 2024 full-year results and address the press.

The briefing will delve into the bank’s 2024 financial performance, highlight key achievements and provide insights into the 2025 financial outlook.

It will be held at Radisson Blu, Upperhill from 8 am.

KNBS report launch

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) will today unveil the country’s first comprehensive report on environmental trends and challenges.

KBL deal with Upper Tana Water Trust

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KBL and the Upper Tana Nairobi Water Fund Trust (UTNWFT).

This is in commemoration of World Water Day.

It will be held at the Water Recovery Plant, Tusker site from 8:30 am.
