The WRC Safari Rally 2025 has officially kicked off,
from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Earlier in the day, President William flagged off the
race, which will end on Sunday.
Speaking during the event, Ruto expressed the
government’s commitment to fully supporting an initiative by the WRC Safari
Rally project and Toyota Gazoo Racing to train Kenyan drivers and mechanics.
Toyota Gazoo Racing is a motorsport division of the Japanese car
manufacturer Toyota.
Motor enthusiasts gathered along Parliament Road to see off the racers as
they drove to Kasarani.

Mzabibu 1 (8.15km) races.
On Friday, the action will focus on Naivasha with the race starting at
Sleeping Warrior on Saturday.
On Sunday, the WRS will start at Oserengoni 1 (18.33km) and end with Hell’s
Gate 2 (10.53km).
The race will culminate with the award ceremony at 15:30, the podium.
More than 100,000 spectators are expected to flock to Naivasha town for the
WRC event.
On Wednesday, the government has urged Kenyans to stay safe during the race.
