In Summary

  • In a nation that prides itself on having a functional constitution, it is imperative that we uphold the rule of law at all times.
  • We cannot allow such incidents to take root in our society. They undermine the very foundations of our democracy and instil fear among citizens.

The recent news of a sitting MP, George Koimburi, being abducted, tortured and abandoned in a coffee plantation is nothing short of chilling.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of a dark chapter in our history, where individuals were frequently taken, only to be found dead, or alive but severely traumatised.

In a nation that prides itself on having a functional constitution, it is imperative that we uphold the rule of law at all times.

The police must act swiftly to investigate this heinous act and apprehend the perpetrators, regardless of their societal status.

If those responsible are indeed government agents, they must understand that no one is above the law. Conversely, if these individuals are common criminals, they too must face the full force of justice.

We cannot allow such incidents to take root in our society. They undermine the very foundations of our democracy and instil fear among citizens.

All of us must demand accountability and transparency in this investigation. Let us not forget that the safety and security of our nation depend on our collective commitment to justice and the rule of law.
