The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that rainfall is expected to persist across five regions.
In a statement on Tuesday, Met listed the regions as Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coast and Western Kenya.
The forecast is for the period from Monday, June 2, to Monday, June 9, 2025.
Daytime temperatures above 30°C will be experienced in much of the Coast, North-eastern Kenya and North-western Kenya.
Night-time temperatures below 10°C are likely in parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley and areas near Mt Kilimanjaro.
Strong winds (>25 knots / 12.86 m/s) from the south to southeast are expected over the Coast and Kenya’s territorial waters, South-eastern lowlands and North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley will have rains in the mornings, afternoon showers and thunderstorms over several places and night showers.
These areas are Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties.
North-western (Turkana and Samburu Counties) will have sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons, with partly cloudy nights.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley [including Nairobi County] (Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi Counties) will have a chance of rains over a few places in the movies.
In the regions, the afternoons will have showers over a few places and nights with chances over a few places.
North-eastern (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties) will be sunny during the day with some clouds at night.
South-eastern lowlands (Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties as well as inland parts of Tana River County) are expected to experience cloudy weather breaking into sunny intervals in the mornings.
The afternoons will have sunny intervals, and the nights will be partly cloudy.
Coast (Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties as well as coastal parts of Tana River County) will have showers over a few places in the mornings, afternoons will have sunny intervals, and the nights will be partly cloudy.
