River Kambu became swollen following heavy rains on Friday.
In a video posted on X, several people are seen attempting to heard the cattle across the bridge but disaster strikes.
The animals, seemingly overwhelmed by the water current, took a dive into the river, one after the other and were swept downstream.
The lower Eastern region received heavy rainfall on Friday, leading to destruction caused by flooding.
In Mwingi North, parents, teachers and learners of Katama Primary School in Mumoni, were left stranded after strong winds blew off the roof of six classrooms and several offices, including that of the head teacher.
Among the classrooms destroyed are one for Grade 9 that was still under construction.
Michael Ndunga, the headteacher, told a local media house that “the heavy rains started just after children had left for home. The rains have left a trail of destruction".
On Wednesday, in its five-day weather forecast, the Kenya Meteorological Department said rains will continue across the country.
The forecast also indicated that isolated heavy rainfall events are likely over some areas.
This is including the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, South-eastern lowlands, the Coast and parts of north-eastern and north-western Kenya.
Showers and thunderstorms were forecasted over several areas, including Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Siaya, Homa Bay, Kericho, Nandi, Bomet, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Narok.
These regions will experience rain, with some areas seeing breaks into sunny intervals. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to intensify in the afternoon.
Kenya Met said the South-Eastern lowlands, which include counties such as Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta and Kajiado, will experience showers and thunderstorms overnight.
The morning will see cloudy conditions with some rain, followed by sunny intervals.
Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in the afternoon over a few places.
