Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has said that the Mutuini market will ensure mama mboga and other traders sell their goods from clean and dignified spaces.

Speaking on Wednesday during the inspection of the market construction alongside President William Ruto, Kindiki said mama mboga asked for the market during the 2022 campaigns.

He went on to say that the executive is working with all leaders to ensure all Kenyans benefit from the country’s development.

“During the campaigns, small traders like mama mboga here asked for a new market because they said they deserved to work in a clean and tidy environment that is why a new market is being constructed for the traders in Mutuini. We are here also for better school infrastructure and roads and other development engagements.

“The President is here today to ensure Dagoretti South benefits from development programmes. We are working together with all the leaders here to ensure the people are served and benefit from development,” Kindiki said.

The Deputy President insisted that it is the intention of the Kenya Kwanza administration to ensure all Kenyans move forward as one single unit.

He urged all to unite and shun away from all forms of discrimination.

“We want a patriotic, united country. Now it is time to nurture a united country for us to be a strong nation. We are grateful for welcoming us to Mutuini,” he said.

Kindiki said the government is also focused on creating job opportunities for our youth and women to ensure our country moves forward.

He added that the Climate WorX program presently employing 22, 000 youths is being expanded to accommodate 18, 000 more.

“Our youth are also getting digital jobs via ICT hubs.”

Speaking after the opening of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Laboratory at PC Kinyanjui TTI, Kindiki said that as the second-in-command, he will ensure all promises President Ruto made to the students at the institution are fulfilled.

“As the Deputy President, I and my colleagues will make sure what the President has promised the students of PC Kinyanjui TTI, including delivering 100 more computers, release of Helb loans, construction of a link road, construction of two storey building and a new bus for the institute, is accomplished as instructed.”

Ruto and Kindiki also broke ground for the construction of the Riruta market in Dagoretti South.
