President William Ruto has offered Kenyans a rare glimpse into his farming life after he was captured inspecting a vast maize plantation at his farm in Naivasha.

‎In the video, the Head of State is seen walking through neatly planted rows of mature maize, occasionally stopping to examine the crop.

‎Dressed casually in a jacket, hat and jeans, Ruto appears relaxed as he surveys the expansive farm, underscoring his long-standing interest in agriculture.

‎The footage shows the maize crop at an advanced stage of growth, with healthy green stalks stretching across the farm.

‎At several points, the President is seen touching the maize plants as he walks through the fields, seemingly assessing their condition ahead of the expected harvest.

‎Ruto has consistently described farming as one of his greatest passions, often saying that agriculture remains the backbone of Kenya's economy and the country's biggest employer.

Even before becoming President, he frequently spoke about investing in large-scale farming and encouraging young people to view agriculture as a profitable venture.

‎The latest video comes at a time when the government continues to push for increased food production through subsidised fertiliser, improved seed varieties and mechanisation.

‎The Kenya Kwanza administration has repeatedly maintained that boosting agricultural productivity is central to achieving food security and reducing the cost of living.

‎Beyond his official duties, Ruto has often been seen spending time on his farms, reinforcing the image of a leader with a hands-on interest in agriculture.

‎His Naivasha property is known for large-scale crop and livestock farming, reflecting his long-held investment in the sector.

‎As the crop edges closer to maturity, the farm is expected to produce a substantial harvest, further highlighting the role of commercial farming in supporting Kenya's food production efforts.
