
A businessman was murdered in his house in a robbery in Kimana area, Kajiado County.
The motive of the
murder is yet to be established.
Police said the
incident happened on Wednesday August 27, 2025 night and left Benson Mutua
Munguti, 43 with a fatal slit throat.
A gang raided his home in
Tikondo village and terrorized the family before killing him.
His wife and young son were
spared as they hid in a separate room.
They later screamed for help.
This was as the attackers left the scene.
The attackers wore gloves in the
mission indicating they targeted Munguti and did not want investigations to
trace them.
Bloodstained gloves were
recovered in a nearby bush by police who visited the scene.
Police said they believe the
gang wanted to cover their actions and that the gloves may help in opening the
case.
It was later established the
gang grabbed a television set that was in the house and valued at Sh9,000 and
escaped with it.
Police moved
the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere in
Vitengeni, Kilifi County’s Dida village, a woman aged about 100 years was found
murdered in her house.
Police said the
woman lived alone and was hacked to death in her house on August 27.
The assailants
gained entry into the house after removing some bricks of the wall as the woman
slept.
The body of the
woman identified as Choni Kazungu was found in her bed with injuries in the
head long after the murder.
No arrest had
been made by Thursday but police said they were pursuing leads into the
incident.
In Hola, Tana
River County, a 35-year-old man who had been missing was found dead near River
Tana.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
