
A man aged 41 was found dead and hanging on a rope after he had killed his wife in Gikumbo village, Kirinyaga County.
Police said they are investigating murder and suicide incidents
in the saga.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known.
According to police, the bodies of the man and woman were found in the house after the murder and suicide incident.
The body of Edith Muringu Mureithi, 38, was found in the house lying on the bed with a cut wound on the left ear and a deep cut wound on the neck, and her husband, one James Munene Muchiri, 41, was hanging with a rope tied from the truss of the roof with no visible injuries.
A knife, which is believed to be the weapon used
was recovered at the scene and kept as an exhibit.
Police moved the bodies to the mortuary pending postmortem.
Cases of suicide and murder are on the rise. Most of them are linked to domestic issues, police say.
Meanwhile, police in Kondele, Kisumu County, are investigating an incident
where a woman was stabbed in the neck and killed in a robbery.
The woman identified as Mercy Muthoni was at her shop when she was attacked.
A mob confronted the suspect behind the fatal stabbing and stoned him to death.
Police said a kitchen knife was found at the scene. The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

linked the stabbing to an attempted robbery that went bad.
Elsewhere in Ndabibi, Naivasha, a 30-year-old man was killed in an assault by persons known to him.
The body was found in a maize plantation after the drama. Police said the deceased was attacked by a mob on claims he was a thief at a private residence.
The deceased had a deep cut injury on his head, a stab wound
on his right hand, a fracture of the right-hand thumb finger, a fractured rib, and leg
injuries.
Police have been complaining of rising cases of mob lynching. They want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.
Some of the suspects have been found to be innocent and framed.
