Detectives are investigating a murder case in an incident where the body of a man was found floating under a bridge in Kalundu, Kitui Town.
The man seemed to
have been murdered and the body dumped at the scene, police said of the July 14
incident.
The motive of the murder is yet to be determined.
Police said they were yet to identify the body, which was found floating on the water under a bridge with visible injuries on the right eyebrow, lips, and a deep puncture wound at the right cheek.
The body was moved
to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
And in Mlolongo,
Machakos County, a man was shot and injured in a botched robbery at a bar on Monday
morning.
Police said they had
been alerted of an ongoing robbery at the bar in the area and responded to the scene
where two suspects had stabbed and injured an attendant and a reveller.
Police shot and injured
one of the suspects in the left leg before they subdued him.
His accomplice was arrested without any injury. The stabbed victims were treated and discharged while the suspect was admitted to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police said they recovered a kitchen knife, a button sword and a panga at the scene.
Meanwhile, detectives are
investigating the cause of death of an Indian tourist at a popular resort,
Nanyuki, Laikipia County.
Police said the man, aged 62, collapsed and died at the resort on Saturday night.
He was in his room with his wife when
he started to complain of pain and dizziness, and started to vomit before he
collapsed.
He was rushed to a local hospital, where
he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The cause of the death was not
immediately known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, which will reveal the cause of the death, police said.
