Police have launched investigations into multiple deaths reported in different parts of the country, including Nairobi, Machakos, Bungoma, and Siaya counties.

In the Peponi area of Nairobi, a man was found dead on his sofa inside his house on Monday, June 30.

He had reportedly not been seen over the weekend, prompting concerned neighbours to check on him.

They found the door open and his lifeless body on the couch. The man was half-naked, with no visible injuries.

He lived alone, and his family was later informed. The body was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

In Mutituni, Machakos County, a woman was arrested after her two-year-old son was brought to the local hospital unresponsive.

The child had visible strangulation marks on his neck.

The mother claimed he had fallen in the house and died before reaching the hospital. Police say an autopsy will help determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, a man was stoned to death by a group of bodaboda riders who accused him of theft.

His body was found near Chepkoya Primary School. Police are investigating the incident and cautioning the public against mob justice, urging that suspects be handed over to authorities.

In another case in Bondo, Siaya County, a man identified as Victor Katana Odhiambo was hacked to death with a panga by his brother during a domestic quarrel. Police say the attack followed a disagreement between the two.

The suspect fled the hospital after the incident but later surrendered to police when confronted by locals.

Investigations revealed the suspect is an ex-convict who had previously served a sentence for murdering his uncle in 2024.

All the bodies have been taken to local mortuaries as autopsies and further investigations continue.
