Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Friday visited the Ministry of Health headquarters for a familiarization tour during which he held a meeting with his predecessor, Deborah Barasa.
The visit is a result of the recent cabinet reshuffle announced by President William Ruto, which saw the two Cabinet Secretaries swap positions.
Duale was moved to the health ministry while Dr. Barasa transitioned to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry.
During the visit, Duale said he is committed to strengthening health systems, promoting equity, and accelerating the achievement of Universal Health Coverage—an essential pillar of Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
Principal Secretary for Public and Professional Standards Health, Mary Muthoni and Patrick Amoth, Director General for Health, were present.
