President William Ruto Tuesday night hosted the visiting King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of Netherlands at State House for a State banquet.
His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima arrived in Kenya Monday night for a four-day state visit.
Speaking during the banquet, Ruto said the event was held to "honour our past, celebrate our present and embrace our future".
"In this spirit, I invite you to raise your glasses for a toast to the enduring friendship between Kenya and Netherlands to the good health and well-being of its people His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima and to the lasting partnerships and shared prosperity of our two peoples."
In a communiqué, the Kingdom of Netherlands said the Dutch royalty will be accompanied by a delegation of ministers to explore investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships between the two countries.
The delegation comprises companies specialising in agriculture, horticulture, irrigation, water infrastructure, and sustainable financing.
The visit will end on Saturday, March 20.
"This four-day business mission aligns with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands’ commitment to enhancing trade relations, strengthening food security, and advancing sustainable water solutions," the Dutch government said in a statement.
