Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged President William Ruto not to worry about the many nicknames Kenyans have given him, as long as the country moves forward.

Speaking in Mutindwa, Embakasi West, on Friday, Kindiki encouraged Ruto to continue implementing projects that will develop the country.

He insisted that the President should be allowed to continue building schools, markets, affordable houses, and creation jobs, as well as uniting the country.

The DP urged Kenyans to support the President in doing this.

He added that Kenya has enough resources that can serve all citizens without discrimination against anyone.

Rais, usijali hata ukiitwa Kasongo bora Kenya isonge mbele.

This loosely translates to, “Mr President, don’t worry even if you are called Kasongo, as long as the country moves forward. Let’s support the President to develop the country, build schools and markets. Continue developing Kenya through affordable housing, creating jobs for the youth and uniting Kenyans.”

“Our country is endowed with enough resources for all Kenyans without any discrimination against anyone.”

This comes after Ruto joked that Kenyans will kill him with nicknames if the trend of coining new aliases for him continues.

Speaking in Lang’ata on the fourth day of his development tour of Nairobi city, Ruto said that they started by calling him a hustler and moved the name survivor.

He went on to say that Kenyans later on moved to Zakayo, and they are now calling him Kasongo.

On Friday, he added El-Chapo, which was as a result of his announcement together with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja that they would buy a machine that can make up to a million Chapatis.

He stated that he will continue doing his job and the names can keep coming, and they should even get to ten.

Ruto and Kindiki have been on a five-day development tour of Nairobi City County, where the President commissioned various projects, in addition to inspecting those that are ongoing.

The development tours are part of the President’s initiatives to ensure all parts of the country get equitable development, including the interior parts of Kenya.
