In Summary

Global estimates from 2024 reveal persistent child labour, with notable disparities between sexes and across age groups.

While 8.1% of girls and 8.3% of boys aged 5-11 are affected, the trend shifts significantly with age.

Among 12-14 year olds, 5.9% of girls and 7.7% of boys are in child labour.

The disparity widens further for 15-17 year olds, with 5.2% of girls compared to a striking 10.2% of boys involved.

With age, child labour becomes progressively more common among boys than girls.
