Radio is most listened to in Lower Eastern counties, dethroning western Kenya, which has commanded listenership for decades.
An analytical report on Audience Measurement and Industry Trends for October-December 2024 by the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) shows that Lower Eastern counties had the highest proportion of listeners at 87 per cent, whereas Western counties had 83 per cent.
