The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) has officially changed its name to Technopolis Development Authority following the enactment of the Technopolis Act, 2026.

In a public notice, the authority said the change follows President William Ruto's assent to the Technopolis Act on May 11, 2026, and its subsequent publication in the Kenya Gazette on May 15.

The authority said the change of name takes effect under the provisions of the new law and reflects its expanded mandate under the revised legal framework.

"The change of name does not affect any obligations, assets, liabilities, operations or contractual relationships with our investors, customers, tenants, partners or other stakeholders," the notice said.

The authority said all references to the Konza Technopolis Development Authority in official documents, correspondence, contracts and other engagements will now be construed to mean the Technopolis Development Authority.

The agency assured stakeholders that its operations will continue uninterrupted despite the transition.

According to the notice, the authority will continue discharging its mandate while advancing the development of Kenya's technopolis ecosystem.

Its physical location remains at Konza Technopolis along Mombasa Road.

KoTDA urged stakeholders to take note of the change and channel any queries regarding the transition through the authority's designated communication channels.

The Technopolis Act, 2026, provides the legal framework for the authority's expanded role in the development, management and promotion of technology-driven urban and innovation ecosystems in Kenya.
