A Kibera Law Court has sentenced Luka Andove to death on three counts and life imprisonment on four counts after he was found guilty of multiple offences, including robbery with violence (three counts), rape (three counts), and attempted rape (one count).

While delivering the judgment, Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Abdul said the prosecution had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

According to the court, the evidence showed that Andove lured his victims by pretending to assist them in finding employment.

He reportedly picked them up on his motorbike, claiming to take them to job interviews.

However, the incidents took place in Ngong Forest, where the victims were assaulted and robbed by a person armed with a knife.

The court heard that the accused had evaded arrest for some time, but investigations revealed a recurring pattern in the offences. Acting on this information, police apprehended him while allegedly attempting to commit a similar offence.

In sentencing, the court cited the gravity and repeated nature of the crimes and ruled that the offences warranted the maximum penalty under the law.

Andove is to begin serving the death sentence immediately, while the other sentences remain suspended in accordance with legal procedure.
