

A pedestrian succumbed to injuries after being hit by a
vehicle along Mombasa Road.
The accident occurred at Dinlas Pharma area along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway after the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the
road to the left side, and hit two pedestrians who were standing beside the
road.
“Due to the impact of the accident, the two pedestrians were
thrown into a ditch after being dragged for a distance and sustained injuries,”
police said.
They were both rushed to the Frh hospital in Syokimau for
treatment, where one pedestrian succumbed to injuries.
The body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary in the
same facility, awaiting transfer to Shalom Hospital mortuary for preservation
and autopsy.
Elsewhere, in Nyamache subcounty, a 19-year-old died by suicide after he went
missing for six days.
The deceased’s body was recovered when people managed to
gain access to his rented house, which was locked from the inside.
Officers from Nyamache police station and DCI visited the
scene and established that he had committed suicide using a mosquito net.
“We found the lifeless body lying in a supine position with no
visible injuries but with part of the net around his neck and the other on the
roof,” police said.
The body was moved to the Gucha sub-county hospital morgue
awaiting postmortem.
In Tharaka Nithi county, an unknown
middle-aged male person was subjected to mob injustice inside Chuka forest
within Gachakoni village, location.
Police officers from Chuka Police Station, DCI Chuka North
Sub-County, and CSI Tharaka Nithi County visited the scene together with the
Assistant Chief.
Upon arrival, they found the unknown male person partially
burnt, his left hand chopped off at the wrist, and his legs tied together with a
sisal rope.
“Preliminary inquiries indicated that he was attacked by
unknown suspected bodaboda riders on accusations of being a motorcycle thief,” police
said.
The scene was processed, and the body was moved to Chuka referral
mortuary pending identification and postmortem.
