Man arrested after beating his daughter to death over drunk claims in Kerina, Kisii County
A man was arrested for murder
after his daughter succumbed to injuries she sustained while being beaten in a
village in Kerina, Kisii County.
The incident happened in
Bokoma village on June 24.
The 17-year-old had arrived home from her school in Homa Bay County, on June 22 for
half term when the incident happened.
He is said to have
confronted and beat her up over claims she was drunk before she fell
unconscious, police said.
She was later rushed to a
local hospital, where she succumbed to the injuries.
The man told doctors he
was disciplining her. This went bad.
She was pronounced dead
on arrival at the hospital.
The body had visible
injuries on the thigh, buttocks, left wrist, right leg and blood was oozing
from the nose.
It was then that the
police were informed of the incident and arrested the man for investigation and
arraignment for murder.
The body was preserved at
a local mortuary pending autopsy.
In Maili
Saba, Trans Nzoia County, one John Simiyu Wafula was found dead in his rented
house within Sinoko village. Wafula, 28 was a pool table operator who lived in
a rental house with his wife.
Preliminary
investigations showed he and his wife had a domestic quarrel on June 21 which
resulted the woman stabbing the deceased on the left side of the chest using a
tester screw.
Wafula was
taken to a local hospital where he was stitched and discharged to recover at
home.
He went
home where his body was found lying on bed with the wound on the left side of the
chest on June 25
The said
assailant is missing and police said they are looking for her for interrogation.
The body
was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Police said they are
investigating murder in the incident.
