Ruto launches 150-bed KDF hospital in Lanet

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has officially handed over two
newly constructed classrooms to Moi Barracks Comprehensive School in Eldoret.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Colonel Christopher Boit commended the quality of construction and applauded the efforts of all involved in the project.
“Infrastructure investments are not only instrumental in creating a conducive learning environment but also pivotal in enhancing the overall academic performance of the students,” he noted.
“We are proud of the remarkable progress Moi Barracks Comprehensive School has made over the years, and we are confident that these new classrooms will further elevate the learning experience for students,” he said.
According to Boit, the classes signify a significant boost to ensuring a smooth learning environment for the students.
The ceremony marked another milestone in the ongoing partnership between the KDF and the educational institutions, aimed at fostering academic excellence through improved infrastructure.
Hellen Limo, deputy head teacher, Moi Barracks, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the KDF.
“I echo your unwavering commitment to the school’s growth,” she said.
She also highlighted the impact of the new classrooms in easing congestion and creating a more engaging learning environment.
In January, KDF reopened Cheptulel Boys Secondary School in West Pokot after a three-year closure over banditry.
KDF is leading Operation Maliza Uhalifu to tame banditry that has left many people dead and thousands displaced.
The movement to reopen the school marked a significant milestone in the region’s efforts to embrace peace and return to normalcy.
The County Director of Peace, Rev Jackson Alukusia, assured the community that peace would firmly be established in the region.
“You are now in a safe environment, and I encourage you to focus on your studies and contribute to the future of this great community,” said Rev. Alukusia.
Alukusia expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President William Ruto and the Ministry of Interior for their unwavering support in restoring peace to Cheptulel and the surrounding areas.
