Dozens injured after bus headed for Nairobi overturns on Nairobi-Nakuru highway

Police who responded to the morning accident said they are investigating it.

At least 20 passengers were injured when a bus they were travelling in, headed for Nairobi, overturned in the  Kimende area, Limuru, Kiambu County.

Police and witnesses said the Nairobi-bound bus overturned at the Kimende hotspot on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.

The injured were rushed to the hospital in the area with multiple injuries, police said.

According to a witness, the incident occurred after the driver lost control of the bus christened Climax Coach.

Police who responded to the morning accident said they are investigating it.

The police say they will talk to the driver of the bus in the Sunday accident as part of the probe into the accident.

The passengers complained of multiple injuries. They were rescued by locals who rushed to the scene minutes after it happened.

The accident comes a week after another Climax Sacco bus was involved in a road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

This is after the bus was involved in a head-on collision with a long-distance truck on the highway.

On February 17, another bus from the sacco was involved in a road crash at Awasi in Kisumu County after it rolled off the road.

Police say they are investigating the incidents.
