At least 20
passengers were injured when a bus they were travelling in, headed for Nairobi, overturned in the Kimende area, Limuru, Kiambu County.
Police and
witnesses said the Nairobi-bound bus overturned at the Kimende hotspot on the
Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.
The injured
were rushed to the hospital in the area with multiple injuries, police said.
According to
a witness, the incident occurred after the driver lost control of the bus
christened Climax Coach.
Police who
responded to the morning accident said they are investigating it.
The police
say they will talk to the driver of the bus in the Sunday accident as part of
the probe into the accident.
The
passengers complained of multiple injuries. They were rescued by locals
who rushed to the scene minutes after it happened.
The accident
comes a week after another Climax Sacco bus was involved in a road accident on
the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
This is
after the bus was involved in a head-on collision with a long-distance truck on
the highway.
On February
17, another bus from the sacco was involved in a road crash at Awasi in Kisumu
County after it rolled off the road.
Police say
they are investigating the incidents.
