Labor Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced a new job recruitment initiative through the Kazi Majuu program.

The recruitment exercise will be held at Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, Nairobi, between March 5 and March 6 2025.

The labor CS has said that this is in line with the pledge by President Ruto to enhance opportunities overseas.

''Following the promise by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto to enhance labour mobility and overseas opportunities #KaziMajuu for our youth, there will be a recruitment exercise at Jesus Winner Ministry, Roysambu, Nairobi County on Wednesday, March 5 and March 6 2025, from 8 AM to 5 PM,'' he stated in his social media handle.

Among the job categories with vacancies are nurses who are degree holders. They will be recruited for jobs in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai & Australia.

Others are drivers who are in hold of driving license (Ex GCC License Holders highly encouraged to register) and delivery riders in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Other available positions are in the hospitality sector- waiters and waitresses, stewards and chefs, seafarers & cruise ship jobs, construction workers– masons, carpenters, scaffolders, electricians, plumbers and construction helpers.

Mutua said successful applicants will receive an array of benefits and support from the government.

''Those successfully recruited will receive passports within a day or two; financial support options will also be provided for those who cannot afford processing fees, visas, medicals, tickets while accommodation, Insurance, Transport, and Overtime will be provided for selected jobs,'' he said.

He emphasised that the initiative aligned with the government’s commitment to providing meaningful employment to Kenyans while ensuring fair terms and conditions of work.

This move comes a few days after Pentecostal Bishop Edward Mai affiliated with Jesus Winner Ministry church, pleaded with President William Ruto to help the community members secure employment opportunities overseas.

''We have people in this church who are looking for jobs overseas. Some have studied Germany, French.. therefore we are pleading with respect for you to help the community here access those jobs,'' Bishop Mwai said.
