Ugandan boxer Shakib Chum has issued an open challenge to Kenyan celebrities for a boxing match.

Speaking on the 3 Truths No Lie podcast, Shakib invited any Kenyan celebrity to step into the ring, saying he preferred fighting celebrities because “it makes more noise,” attracting greater public attention.

The challenge sparked debate online, with fans suggesting possible contenders.

Among the names floated by netizens were Kenyan artists Khaligraph Jones, Otile Brown, and Bien, though none of them has publicly responded.

Several celebrities, however, did weigh in.

On September 1, 2025, singer Willy Paul posted a video on Instagram politely declining the offer.

“I am a huge fan of yours, brother, but I don’t advocate for that. Your wife is a very big fan of mine,” Willy Paul said, making it clear he would not be taking part in the contest.

On the same day, fellow artist Arrow Bwoy posted a reel on Instagram, saying he was ready to fight Shakib.

“Yes! I am up for the challenge,” he declared in the video, adding a light-hearted comment about the event’s atmosphere.

Social media users are now watching closely to see if more Kenyan celebrities will accept the Ugandan boxer’s call.

The challenge comes shortly after Shakib’s celebrity match in Kampala on August 30, 2025, where he faced Ugandan artist Rickman Manrick.

The highly anticipated bout ended in the second round with Shakib knocked out, drawing significant attention online.

His wife, Zari, who was ringside during the match, appeared visibly emotional after the outcome.
