Kenyans and leaders have come out to condemn the act, saying it is a violation of human rights.
Police lobbed tear gas canisters at a group of protesters in the city centre.

There was a contingent of police as they prevented protestors from accessing Parliament Road.
This comes at a time when the Finance CS John Mbadi is expected to read the Budget 2025/ 2026.
