More than 20 Kenya Kwanza leaders including Governors and MPs have drummed up support for President William Ruto on his unity deal with opposition chief Raila Odinga.

They attended an inter-denominational church service at Kiplombe in Eldoret where they praised Ruto for initiatives like the Social Health Authority (SHA) and affordable housing which they said would benefit Kenyans.

They claimed some leaders were perpetrating selfish and tribal interests to undermine Ruto.

The service was held at Tebeswet Primary School near Moi Barracks where the leaders also spoke on several national issues.

They insisted that Ruto would serve for two terms because of the good work he is doing for the country.

Emurua Dikir MP Johanah Ngeno said Ruto’s government was now more stable following the unity deal with opposition chief Raila Odinga.

“We want Ruto to bring all leaders together including those who are still out there,” Ngeno said.

Senate majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot said there should be no worries about Ruto's leadership and that his unity with Odinga was for the prosperity of the country.

He urged Kenyans to stand with Ruto until he will complete his term.

Cheruiyot said Kenyans would eventually remember Ruto for his good work.

He said those opposed to Ruto’s donations to churches were wasting their time because the sane would not stop.

He said Ruto's achievements were clear to all Kenyans except those who 'make noise through social media'.

“Because of the bold decisions Ruto has taken, Kenya is now more stable and we have not even defaulted on payment of debts,” Cheruiyot said.

Bungoma Governors Ken Lusaka and his Uasin Gishu counterpart Jonathan Bii of Bungoma also praised Ruto and asked Kenyans to support his government.

Bii said Raila was a very experienced leader whose support for Ruto was valuable for the country.

“Ruto ni miaka kumi express( Ruto will serve for ten years nonstop),” Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe said.

Taveta MP Bwire said Ruto government had many achievements including the availability of subsidised fertiliser, the success of SHA, and the employment of over 70,000 teachers.

The leaders were hosted by President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet.

Others present were Nandi Hills MP Benard Kitur, Moiben MP Phyllis Barto, Innocent Mugabe of Likuyani, Fred Ikana of Shinyalu, Ikolomani MP Benard Shinali and Senator Eddy Ochieng of Migori.

Kilifi North MP Owen Baya was the chief guest at the fundraising for 25 churches in the area.

Kitutu Chache North MP Japheth Nyakundi and Nominated MP Irene Nyakerario were also present among others.

Farouk said all Kenyans must register with SHA to enjoy quality health services.

He said all programmes initiated by Ruto were running well and that the President deserved a second term to complete the initiatives.

“Do not accept those who tell us that Ruto will be a one-term President. Kenyans can see and feel his work and they will re-elect him,” Farouk said.

Bartoo said those perpetrating tribalism must be rejected by all Kenyans.

Baya said Ruto was not sidelining any region in his development agenda and that the Coast region would also back him to complete his term.

Vihiga Woman Rep Beatrice Adagala said Ruto should not be shaken by critics but he should focus on his initiatives to develop the country.

Nyakerario said Raila and Ruto were the most popular leaders in the country and their unity would keep the country united and stable.

Nyakerario also urged the media to sensitise Kenyans about the positives achieved by the government.

Senator Oketch said the unity between Ruto and Raila would help to equalise development in the country.

“We are committed to the course started by our leaders and supporting their dream of making Kenya great as one nation," Oketch said.

Ikana said the country’s economy was improving with Ruto’s efforts to reduce the national debt and consumer prices of many products including fuel.

Nyakundi enumerated Ruto’s achievements as concerning economic growth and said the President had proved that he was not selfish like most politicians.
