

President William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki on Monday brought Eastleigh to a standstill as they begin a development tour of the Nairobi city county.
Ruto had presided over the commissioning of Kamukunji Technical Vocational College in Kamukunji Constituency together with other leaders accompanying him.
Ruto and Kindiki made a stopover at the Eastleigh business centre, where they addressed residents.
Present was Environment CS Aden Duale, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan.
Other city legislators including Phelix Odiwuor (Lang’ata), Ronald Karauri (Kasarani) and John Kiarie (Dagoretti South) among others, were also present.

The weeklong tour will have the president commissioning development projects across its 17 constituencies.
It also marks President Ruto’s first major development tour of Nairobi since his election in 2022.
After addressing Eastleigh residents, Ruto and Kindiki will head on to inspect the Bangkok Fresh Produce Market and the upgrading of the Desert Pitch, Kamukunji Constituency.
He will also visit Zawadi Primary School for the School Feeding Programme, and the Shauri Moyo B Affordable Housing Project in Makadara Constituency.
Ruto will then launch of Nairobi Rivers Engineering Works in Kamukunji Constituency before closing the day with a Rally at Kamukunji Grounds.
