Youthful political activist Kasmuel McOure alias Kaskazini now says that the best decision he has ever made was asking former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to be his political mentor.
In a statement on Sunday, Kasmuel said that Raila’s deep connection with his supporter from bottom to the top is extraordinary.
He went on to say that learning political organisation from the veteran politician and longtime opposition leader is nothing short of amazing.
“Asking Raila Odinga to mentor me is one of the boldest and best decisions I’ve ever made. His deep connection with his constituency from the grassroots up is truly remarkable.
“Learning political organisation from the enigma of Kenyan politics is a surreal experience,” Kasmuel said on X.
Kasmuel is one of the youthful political activists who emerged as a result of the 2024 anti-government Gen Z protests.
In November 2024, he announced that he had decided to join Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Kasmuel said the party is now out to revive youth and student leagues across the country, after a meeting with its chairperson Gladys Wanga in Homa Bay.
He went on to say that ODM is the only pro-people party in East and Central Africa, further calling on young people to join the party.
He added that it is the only political movement that pushes for a country where everyone can live with dignity.
“If you’re willing to join a substantive political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider @TheODMparty - the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!
“We’re revitalising the Youth and Students’ Leagues and are calling on passionate young Kenyans to help shape our future. Stand with us! Thank you, party chair Gladys Wanga, for your faith and hosting us this weekend,” Kasmuel said.
Since then, he has been traversing the country with ODM party leader Raila Odinga in many of his engagements.
What is very notable is the two, Raila and Kasmuel, sharing the same helicopter in all these engagements.
He was also in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the African Union Commission elections as Raila sought to lead the Commission.
