Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has explained why she thinks it is very difficult to be a Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Tuesday, Millie said from where she stands, Raila is one strong politician.

She said that the former Prime Minister, throughout his political life, has faced criticism regardless of which side of the political spectrum he is on.

The legislator cited how people voted against him in elections, but when things get worse, Raila gets blamed for doing nothing.

She also noted the recent case where many Kenyans celebrated after the ODM leader unsuccessfully sought to become the African Union Commission chairperson.

“If there is one politician that I give marks to, it is one Raila Amollo Odinga. It's very difficult to be a Raila Amollo Odinga. You are damned if you do, damned if you don't. If he doesn't support the government, he is blamed; if he supports the government, he is blamed.

“When he stays home, he was told direct to Bondo, he went to Bondo he was blamed when things were going south. He's gone to AU, which has nothing to do with us, he losses people are cheering and are happy he has lost. It's very difficult to be Raila,” Millie said on Spice FM.

Millie was responding to a question about whether the ODM leader was on the verge of joining President William Ruto's government.

The MP noted that what is currently happening in the working arrangement between President Ruto’s administration and the Opposition party is a cooperation to make the country work.

“We are cooperating to make the country work,” she said.

Millie however, insisted that their party leader is still consulting party members across the country before announcing the direction the party will take going forward.

On the alleged plans to have a coalition between ODM and Kenya Kwanza, the Suba North MP said Kenyans are allowed to speculate.

Millie added that it is allowed by the Constitution.
