Kindiki: We're investing Sh2 billion towards power connectivity in Kilifi

The government is investing Sh2 billion towards power connectivity in Kilifi with 20,042 households expected to benefit from the Last Mile Electricity Programs.

According to DP Kithure Kindiki, the, construction of 132kV Rabai-Bomani-Kilifi Transmission Line and the 132/33kV Bomani Substation at a cost of Sh3.4 billion is currently ongoing and will be complete in June this year.

"This project will help support factories and stabilize power supply and improve reliability in Kilifi to support Small and Medium Enterprises, Agro Processing and Food Production," Kindiki said.

On Wednesday Ruto also launched the Last Mile Connectivity Project Phase IV, which brings power to more than 20,000 household.

"The concerted efforts we are making to bring stable, reliable electricity to the County will spur economic growth through manufacturing and tourism sectors,"  he said.
