
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki arrived in Gaborone, Botswana on Friday to attend the inauguration of President Duma Boko.
He was in Botswana on behalf of President William Ruto.
“Kenya salutes and commends the people of Botswana for exercising their civic and constitutional rights in the just concluded elections in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
“Kenya and Botswana continue to enjoy fraternal relations in diverse fields, among them, trade, security, education, agriculture and energy for the benefit of the people of the two nations,” he said.
The trip to Botswana marked Kindiki’s first international trip out of the country since becoming a member of the Cabinet and as Deputy President.
He opted to concentrate on his assignment as head of the homeland security docket.
The DP was accompanied by Senators Fatuma Dulo (Isiolo) and Eddy Oketch (Migori) and National Assembly Members Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), John Njuguna Kawanjiku (Kiambaa), Victor Koech (Chepalungu), and Elisha Odhiambo (Gem).
