In Summary








    Between April 2024 and March 2025, Kenya recorded alarming cases of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

    Defilement accounted for 1,378 cases, rape 682, attempted defilement 150, and attempted rape 46.

    Teen pregnancies stood at 113, with 31 adults also pregnant.

    A total of 2,235 individuals underwent HIV testing, of whom 32 tested positive.

    Studies show that up to 30% of girls and 18% of boys experience sexual violence before 18, highlighting the widespread impact.

    Sexual violence is closely linked to adverse sexual and reproductive health outcomes.
