A report by DCI has highlighted the reported motives for the killing of female victims.
According to the DCI Homicide Data 2024, domestic issues constitute the most cited reason, accounting for 50% of cases.
Unknown motives represent a significant portion at 30%. Witchcraft allegations are reported in 5-10% of cases, while land disputes account for 5%.
The remaining 5% are categorized as "Others."
The data also notes that 129 women were killed in Kenya in 2025.
