Students at one of the top private universities are surprised at one of their lecturers, who has reportedly turned to them to fundraise for his own fees at a different institution of higher learning. The lecturer, who is a former TV journalist and transitioned into academia a few years ago, made the request to the students indicating the amount he was required to raise. It is really not about the request but his alleged regular reminders, while the students say they have their own bills to settle.

It is not a secret that many political leaders from neighbouring countries have acquired swanky residences in high end estates in Nairobi. Ironically, back home, their countries are said to be in fire. A group of some of these leaders is believed to have recently met in one of such residences to discuss the challenges their country faces. However, some of their countrymen wondered why they didn’t converge in their own capital, to be in touch with the reality “on the ground”. One of the critics noted that it fascinating how some of the leaders who have served at the highest levels in government suddenly become deeply concerned about the country’s national interests once they've secured a comfortable life, distant from its challenges. He noted that perhaps the conversation could be held a little closer to the people whose interests are being discussed.

Kenyans have been complaining about the wastage in government with unnecessary appointments, which end up with duplication of roles. Social media users have noticed one of the communication fellas working at an office of a close ally to a big man might not have any job to do after all. The man is said to spend the day taking and uploading photos and videos online, displaying power, opulence and privileges at the place he works. And when he gets time, he reportedly does a lot of firefighting for the boss. Observers now say the man should go slow on the bragging and find something more meaningful to do.
