Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev is in Namibia for a working visit, where he is scheduled to meet with Namibian leaders, including Minister of International Relations and Trade Selma Ashipala-Musavi, to discuss opportunities for enhanced Russian-Namibian economic cooperation.

Trutnev recalled meeting Nujoma, Namibia's first president and leader of its liberation struggle, over 20 years ago.
The Russian official highlighted Nujoma's appreciation for the Soviet Union's support and explained that this visit served as an opportunity to pay respects, as he was unable to attend Nujoma's funeral.
