Pastor Dorcas Rigathi on Wednesday defended her husband, former Deputy President and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, dismissing critics questioning his political future and telling them to "keep quiet and watch" him prove them wrong.

Speaking at their Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri while welcoming supporters and political leaders gathered for the meeting, Dorcas said those who believed Gachagua could not succeed should step aside instead of repeatedly predicting his downfall.

She argued that if critics genuinely believed he could not achieve his political ambitions, there would be no need to keep telling Kenyans so.

"If you think someone cannot make it, why keep telling us they cannot? Just keep quiet and let them fail on their own," she said.

She then rallied supporters with the repeated chant of "Anaweza?" to which the crowd responded, "Anaweza!"

According to Dorcas, Gachagua remained focused on his political journey despite criticism from his opponents.

"Huyu wetu anaenda mahali. Anaenda mbali," she told the cheering supporters.

Dorcas also thanked political leaders, clergy and supporters who had travelled from different parts of the country to attend the gathering at Wamunyoro, saying their early arrival reflected their commitment to Gachagua.

"I could see you arrived very early this morning. It shows the love you have for our leader, Rigathi Gachagua," she said.

She welcomed the guests to what she described as Gachagua's home, joking that while a house belongs to the man, the homestead belongs to the woman.

"Welcome to this home of His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua. You know a house belongs to the man, but the homestead belongs to the woman," she said, drawing laughter from the audience.

Dorcas praised women who had continued supporting her husband through political challenges, saying their support had not gone unnoticed.

She singled out women from Embu for remaining steadfast, saying they had stood firmly with Gachagua during difficult moments.

"We prayed and saw how God blessed you, and we believe He will continue blessing you even more," she said.

Throughout her remarks, Dorcas said her husband's political journey was guided by faith and told supporters that God would continue to protect and direct those pursuing leadership with good intentions.

She urged those present to remain prayerful and to remember God if they achieved their political ambitions.

"When you get there, do not forget that it is God who took you there," she said.

Dorcas concluded by saying she would leave the gathering to attend to other engagements, then invited Gachagua to address the supporters.
