Man on the run after killing two siblings, injuring others

Police said the man killed two and seriously injuring two others in a gruesome domestic incident reported on Thursday night.

Police in Nyandarua Central Sub-County are pursuing a 27-year-old man suspected of fatally attacking four of his siblings.

Police said the man killed two and seriously injured two others in a gruesome domestic incident reported on Thursday night.

According to a police report filed at Olkalou Police Station at 8:58 pm, the incident occurred at Mundi area within Mundi Sub-location, and was first reported by the area Assistant Chief.

Responding police officers and Nyandarua Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), found the bodies of two family members, a female aged 29 years, and a nine-year-old boy.

The bodies were lying dead inside their parents’ house in a pool of blood. 

Both victims had multiple deep cuts around their faces and necks, and were believed to have been stabbed to death.

The suspect, aged 27 years, is also believed to have attacked and injured two other siblings, aged nine and 13.

Police said the two injured boys were rushed to JM Kariuki Hospital, where they are currently admitted in critical condition.

The crime scene was processed, photographed, and documented by crime scene officers. 

The bodies of the deceased were transported to JM Kariuki Hospital Mortuary, where post-mortem examinations are expected to be conducted

Police investigations are ongoing.

Elsewhere, a 24-year-old bodaboda rider was attacked and robbed by a passenger while ferrying him to the Telwet area in Kericho East Sub-County on Thursday afternoon.

According to a report at Kericho Police Station, the victim, identified as Kevin Kipsang was approached at around 1pm at Pakson Stage near the County Assembly by a customer who requested transport to Telwet.

While en route, at Ki Tea Estate within Brooke area, the passenger asked to take a photo at the tea estate. 

The rider handed over his phone to the passenger to take the photo. 

However, the passenger suddenly attacked Kevin Kipsang with a sharp object, injuring him on the head and right ear.

Police said the rider was assisted by a good Samaritan and rushed to Medistar Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in stable condition.

The case is being handled by the Police Unit in Charge (PUI) at Kericho Police Station.
