The Constitution of Kenya 2010 was hailed as a revolution. It promised to cut down the imperial presidency, tame the rogue executive, and put the people at the center of power.

 On paper, it did. In practice, it birthed a Parliament so bloated, so self-absorbed, and so divorced from the suffering of Kenyans that it now stands as the single biggest threat to our democracy.
