A 73-year-old woman was killed in a fire incident in Kapsita Hindu village, Elburgon, Molo, Nakuru County.

The tragic incident happened on the morning of August 19 and affected one Phylis Muthoni, police said.

The body was moved to Elburgon Level Four hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem, police said.

Elsewhere in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia County, a man identified as Benjamin Wafula, 22, was found dead after a suspected drowning incident.

The body was found floating on the Ainasit stream by children who were looking after animals near there.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had a history of epilepsy.

He had gone to bathe in the said stream on August 14 and failed to return home.

It was not until five days later that the partially decomposed body was found.

Police said the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

And a man aged 59 succumbed to his injuries in hospital after he had been assaulted in a bar in Juja Farm, Kiambu County.

Police are now looking for the said assailants in the incident that happened on August 4 in a bar, leaving Jonathan Mutua with the fatal injuries. The suspects are likely to face murder charges, police said.

In llesi shopping centre, Khayega, Kakamega County, police are investigating a murder in an incident where a mob stormed a house and killed a burglary suspect.

Police said Derrick Adalo, 22, who had earlier been suspected of committing a burglary offence, was pulled out of his house and fatally assaulted.

Police officers responded to the scene and rescued him to Kakamega County Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.
