Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i made his maiden visit to Gachagua’s Wamunyoro home on Saturday.
Following his visit, Gachagua said the struggle they are in today is for the future, as he quoted former US President Abraham Lincoln.
He welcomed the former CS to his home.
“The struggle of today is not altogether for today – it is for a vast future also. - Abraham Lincoln. Welcome to Wamunyoro, my brother, Dr Fred Matiang'i,” Gachagua said.

Matiang’i joins a host of opposition leaders, including Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP’s Martha Karua, DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa and former Cabinet Secretaries Justin Muturia and Mithika Linturi, as well as former MP Kabando wa Kabando, who visited Wamunyoro on Saturday.
It comes barely three days after he held a mega meet-the-people tour in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
The former Interior CS was accorded a heroic welcome.
Days before the meeting, the people tour held its first meeting with the opposition leaders in Nairobi.
