President William Ruto has arrived in China for a five-day State visit in the Asian country.
Ruto, whos is accompanied by First Lady Mama Rachel and senior government officials, landed in Beijing at 8pm local time (3 pm Kenyan time).
He was received at the Beijing Danxing International Airport by China's Transport minister Liu Wei.

Also present to receive him was Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi.
This will be President Ruto's third visit to China since assuming office in 2022.

Previous visits were in October 2023 for the Third Road and Belt Forum and in September 2024 for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The current visit marks the first by an African leader since the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, underscoring Kenya’s strategic partnership with China.
Ruto's visit coincided with the arrival of his Azerbaijani counterpart, President Ilham Aliyev, who is also on a state visit to the East Asian country.
