In Bomet Central, detectives have apprehended the prime suspect behind the brutal killing of a 45-year-old woman, whose body was discovered on March 25, 2025.

The chilling discovery was made by the woman’s daughter, who had grown increasingly worried after her attempts to reach her mother by phone went unanswered throughout the day.

Concerned for her mother's safety, the daughter went to the family home, where she was confronted by a horrifying sight.

The woman's lifeless body lay on her bed, covered in blood with deep stab wounds to her neck, arms, chest, and back.

Detectives launched a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this violent crime.

Their efforts led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man in Sailo village, Kipkelion East Sub-County, where he had been hiding.

During interrogation, the suspect led authorities to his residence, where they uncovered crucial evidence linking him to the murder.

Among the items found were a bloodstained knife wrapped in cloth, the deceased's ring, and a mobile phone containing disturbing photos of the body, which the suspect had taken after the crime.

Police believe the motive for the murder stemmed from a deep-seated grudge.

The suspect is said to have harboured resentment towards the woman after she ended their romantic relationship in 2016 and moved on with another man.

Reports suggest the man felt betrayed, especially after he had spent money on her during their time together.

Police said the suspect is currently in custody and awaiting processing ahead of his court appearance.
