NYS announces 50 job opportunities in UAE for its graduates

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced  50 job opportunities in the United Arab Emirates for its graduates.

The service has scheduled a round of practical interviews for interested persons on April 4, 2025, to select 50 fabricators.

This interview will be done by the institution’s Dubai-based client, and successful candidates will join their team in the United Arab Emirates.

This follows another successful round of interviews and the subsequent onboarding of NYS graduates, which was previously conducted.

Interested candidates must be NYS graduates, have a diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field that is essential for foundational knowledge and have a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metalworking or machining.

The graduates must also have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English to collaborate effectively with the team and be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

They will be subject to a two-year renewable employment term and entitled to a basic salary of approximately Sh51,087.

“Their duties and responsibilities will include designing, developing and implementing fabrication processes and procedures, creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and placement of steel structures and reinforcing bars,” the notice advertising the vacancies said.

“They will also measure and cut steel bars to the required length using tools such as shears, torches and saws, bend and shape steel bars using hand tools and machines, secure steel bars in concrete forms using wire clips or welds, install steel structures and reinforcing bars according to specifications and safety standards and collaborate with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability.”

The employment visa, resident permit, accommodation and transport, uniform and PPES, medical insurance, group life insurance and employers’ liability will be provided by the company.

The round-trip air ticket every 2 years will be provided by the company while the first-time air ticket from Kenya to the Middle Eastern nation will be provided by the agent.
