Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen paid a visit to Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi on Thursday evening to express his sympathies and offer his support to the lawmaker for losing her son Elvis Murakana.

The CS asked God to grant her and her family the strength and grace to endure during the difficult time.

“This evening, I condoled with my sister, Hon. Beatrice Elachi, following the tragic loss of her son Elvis Murakana. May God give her and her family the grace to go through this very difficult period of bereavement,” Murkomen said.

At the time of his death, Elvis was a Business Studies student at Africa Nazarene University and was waiting for his graduation in June 2025.

He is said to have left home for errands in Kasarani on March 18, when a road accident occurred.

Tragically, while driving back, his car suffered a tyre burst along Thika Road, causing it to veer off and collide with the guardrails.

When police arrived, Elvis was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to AAR Hospital for urgent medical care.

He spent a week in the Intensive Care Unit at AAR Hospital, where his condition was assessed as critical, requiring emergency surgeries, after which he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for observation.

He eventually succumbed to cardiac arrest.

A group of leaders led by President William Ruto have since offered their condolences to his family.

Elvis will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 29, at the family home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County.
