Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is now calling on Kenyans to pray for the opposition.

Speaking in Limuru, on Saturday, Kalonzo stated that the country is headed in the wrong direction.

He said only prayers can save the country.

“We are the people's loyal opposition. Pray for us. We must allow prayers to guide our country,” he said.

The former vice president said there are ongoing talks to unite the country without discriminating against anyone.

He expressed confidence that working with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, with the support of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta will make them a formidable team that will bring change to Kenya.

He referenced the 2007 post-election agreement with Mwai Kibaki that saw him become vice president.

He said that unity made the country strong, insisting that the one that is hopefully coming will make Kenya much stronger.

“When Kalonzo teamed up with Kibaki, did the country become strong or not? Now I want you to know that if we team up with Riggy G (Rigathi Gachagua) and Uhuru Kenyatta, we will be much stronger than ever," he said.

“There are ongoing talks with leaders of other communities to unite."

The Wiper leader, however, told off those talking about the broad-based government.

The broad-based government followed the agreement between President William Ruto and former Prime Minister to work together.

The agreement saw some leaders from the opposition party ODM join the Kenya Kwanza administration as Cabinet Secretaries and Principals Secretaries.

The latest addition to this lot came this week as Ruto made changes to his administration, including creating an additional seven state departments.

Kalonzo and other leaders from the Azimio coalition have refused to join the broad-based government.

They insist that they must form the next government and are currently meeting like-minded individuals for a possible coalition.
