ODM leader Raila Odinga has declined an invitation from some politicians to join them in the opposition.

Raila reaffirmed his support for the government asserting “We know where we are going.”

“We are fully aware of the decision that we made and where we are headed,” said Raila.

He questioned the motives of those urging him to join their camp, pointing out that, he had previously been labelled as a hyena.

According to the former Prime Minister, Kenya has come from far where there were challenges and there was a need for all leaders to now unite to avoid sliding back.

Defending his stand to support the government, Raila stated that the country is bigger than one individual and “we must defend it.”

Admitting that there are still problems facing the country including ensuring a free and fair election, he expressed optimism that with time this will solved.

“Before we reach there, we must all sacrifice. Where we are is not where we wanted to be but the country must move forward that is why we are saying let us unite," he said.

There have been calls by some leaders led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Raila to join their camp.

Ruto and Raila joined signed a pact recently to work together in finding solutions to problems facing the country.
