Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed what Kenyan leaders are saying from the ongoing consultations he has been having.
The former DP said that he will continue to hold conversations to better the country going forward.
Gachagua on Saturday met with a team from Samburu County to listen to their views and opinions.
The former DP said that from the consultations he has been having, leaders and Kenyans said the solutions to the problems lie within the citizens.
“Today, I met a team from Samburu County and listened to their views and opinions on the various issues around our country and their expectations and ideas on how to deal with them,” Gachagua said in a statement on X.
“One of the most impressive things I have experienced during these consultations is that Kenyans know what is going wrong, and they have simple and practical suggestions of what we need to do to fix what’s not working. Essentially, the solutions to our problems are within us.”
According to the former DP, what Kenyans need to do is to ensure that everyone feels part of the process they are embarking on.
“We will re-orientate our political discourse. The consultations continue.”

The former DP has been holding meetings with a host of leaders at his Wamunyoro residence.
Gachagua who was impeached in October last year has remained active hosting politicians, opinion leaders, church leaders and professionals from the region as he strategises for 2027.
Over the past month, his residence has been a hub of political activities, with delegations from various counties in Mt Kenya flocking to discuss potential political options.
On Thursday, Gachagua held talks with a team of pastors and church ministers from different denominations at his Wamunyoro residence.
The former DP said that the pastors and church ministers called on him at his Wamunyoro residence.
Gachagua said both sides benefitted from the day's insights on the direction the country should take.
"This afternoon, I was blessed to receive a team of pastors and church ministers from different denominations, who called on me at the Wamunyoro Residence, to pray for me and my family," Gachagua said.
"I especially benefited from their spiritual insights on various issues happening around us, as well as their input on what the ground is saying as regards the direction we should take as a Nation. The consultations continue."
On January 25, Gachagua met Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua and vowed to work with her.
Gachagua said as leaders they would benefit from Karua's extensive experience in politics.
The former DP said that he will regularly consult Karua going forward.
“We have had a good conversation with Karua and we have agreed going forward we are going to work together with other Kenyans. I want to assure you that many Kenyans are looking for leadership. We will work together with like-minded Kenyans, patriots and people who care for this country,” Gachagua said.
