
The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Amani National Congress (ANC) merged on Friday and announced formation of a new party known as United Democratic Party.
The merger event was held at State House, Nairobi, and witnessed by President William Ruto and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Other leaders from both outfits were also present during the event.
The President said the merger of the the parties would bring on board diverse, inclusive and transformative political views and ideas to take Kenya forward.
He said with unity of purpose, they can now embark on a renewed aspiration to further democracy and accelerate our economic growth.
