Internal Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has announced the completion of the Kapsuswa/Kidiwa Affordable Housing Project in Soy Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, saying the development is now awaiting commissioning and occupation.
Sharing photos of the completed estate, Omollo said final landscaping works, including grass planting, are currently underway ahead of the official opening.
According to Omollo, the project fulfils a commitment made after President William Ruto laid the foundation stone in January 2024.
"A promise made is a promise delivered," Omollo said while sharing the latest images of the development.
The estate comprises 220 housing units spread across nine residential blocks and includes commercial spaces designed to support businesses and provide essential services to residents.
The development also features a social hall, children's play areas and a tree nursery aimed at creating a vibrant and environmentally conscious neighbourhood.
The estate has also been fitted with modern supporting infrastructure, including solar-lit walkways, boreholes and backup power systems to enhance reliability and sustainability.
Omollo said the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration has continued to support the implementation of the project through coordination with local administrators and other stakeholders.
He said the collaboration has helped maintain a secure and conducive environment for investment, service delivery and community well-being in Eldoret City.
The Kapsuswa/Kidiwa project forms part of the government's Affordable Housing Programme, which seeks to increase access to decent and affordable homes while creating employment opportunities and stimulating local economic activity through housing construction.
