Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru was on Thursday freed after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) declined to approve charges against him.
Njiru had been arrested earlier that morning, but the prosecution informed him and his lawyers that no charges had been preferred against him.
His release came hours after he was presented before the Milimani Law Courts.
Speaking outside the court, his Lawyer Nelson Havi, said Njiru's vehicle had broken down in traffic while he was heading to work, after which police arrested him for alleged obstruction.
